Islampur Union Council was formed in 2001. Islampur Union Parishad was once the ward no 3 of the Kenshwar Union. In 1996, the Islampur Union was divided. After this, the first election was held in 1996. In the first election, the chairman is Jahangir Mathrar. At present, the Chairman of Islampur Union Parishad, Mr. Mohammad Amin Uddin Dhali. She joined the Union Council on 13 September 2016. The route of coming from Shariatpur to Islampur is 7 km by bus.
